Birthing From Within Immerse yourself in the realm of labor and birth. Build confidence and gain an understanding of how to work with your body and the process of labor and birth. Learn support skills, relaxation techniques and a better understanding of what to expect. The cost is $225 for this 6 class series on Tuesday evenings from 6-8:30pm. Saturday & Sunday options) Workshop fee $140 January 29, 12-5pm March 3, 11am-4pm May 20, 11am-4pm June 24, 11am-4pm September 23, 11am-4pm November 11, 11am-4pm Becoming a mother, father, a new family? Congratulations! This is a wonderful and exciting time. Our one day birth workshop for expectant parents will help you feel more prepared for giving birth and ease the transition into parenting. You will learn practical information, physical & emotional comfort, coping practices for labor and birth, hands-on for partners, as well as tools for coping with the needs your newborn. This workshop is ideal to enhance a childbirth series, as a refresher class, or for busy schedules. Prepare to welcome your baby, meet other parents, and create community for the time after your baby is born. Women may attend alone or with a partner or birth companion. Andrea Rutherford is a certified childbirth educator, Birthing from Within mentor, certified lactation counselor and prenatal yoga instructor. Birth Art: LabOrinth Process Birth Story Circle... A nurturing, confidential space for story telling and listening. For women that have already given birth. (Because nothing about Birth or Postpartum is predictable) February 26, 2012, Sunday 5:30 - 7:30 pm (there is a donation based fee for this class, all proceeds will benefit Jodi Demuth - please see the video clip, read her story on the Birth Matters website) Note: there is a Family Pot Luck before from 3-5pm ! (pre-register with Andrea) The Fourth Trimester: Postnatal Preparation This class provides you with a tool box for the first 3 months of parenting. Learn baby care basics, soothing skills and what you can do now to make your life easier later. You'll also learn self-care strategies and ways to "baby-proof your marriage". You can take this one-time class on its own for $35 or as part of the Bridge Package. Classes are from 6-8pm. February 1, March 21, May 23, September 19, December 5 Breastfeeding Breastfeeding Bascics (Prenatal Breastfeeeding Education) A prenatal class created to really support the mom and partner. Learn all the basics of how your body works and what your baby needs. You'll leave with an understanding of what to expect, how to recognize and avoid common challenges and how to create a supportive environment to get off to the best start with breastfeeding. You can take this one-time class on its own for $35 or as part of the Bridge Package.
